Her mother is sister to our wonderfully sweet girl Tabit, and was apparently a fabulous mother to her litter, building elaborate nests and keeping up well with the babies. Gigi is a very sweet girl with large eyes and a nice structure, who has integrated very well with our little girls here. She tucks nicely when held and is curious and interested in what is going on around her! We look forward to watching her grow here! Sadly, Gigi doesn't seem to be able to carry a litter to term. Twice we paired her with good efforts seen on their part, and she gained weight and started having a rounded belly, only to suddenly drop a bunch of weight 2 weeks in and go back into heat, indicating either false pregnancies or miscarriages. The second time was accompanied with some bloody discharge that indicated miscarriage was more likely. For her safety, as well as to avoid such problems potentially being genetic, she is being retired for potential breeding and will be kept as a pet only. We are disappointed to not be able to have babies from her, though at least grateful that she seems to have gone through both pregnancies without experiencing any significant risks to her. |
