A bit nervous of new situations. Generally friendly though and can have a good sense of humor. Confident of her skills and ability. Strange charr, and especially strange male charr, can put her on defense due to her use of magic and her parentage. Background: Aydan's mother was a member of the Ash Legion, and met and mated with a male charr she encountered at a bar out a ways from the citadel, who she later discovered was deceitful of his origins and was actually a Flame Legion shaman. When Aydan was still a cub being cared for by her mom her father showed up with his warband to claim his "son" from the female he had used to produce him. As his bandmates fought to hold off her warband he broke in, only to find the runty female cub. Furious that her mother had dared to produce him a daughter he attacked her, knocking her aside and going after Aydan with the intent to kill "the abomination." In a fit, seeing her mother attacked and the charr coming at her, Aydan lashed out, her own magic waking and bringing a storm with pouring rain, raging winds and thunder over them...and setting her father's tail on fire. Around the same time nearby ash warbands showed up to reinforce her mother's, and her father called off his own and signaled a retreat. The small cub was still cornered by her father, with no control to defend herself and his tail burnt from her actions. He hesitated, looking her over, before grinning, turning to leave with his warband, leaving Aydan alive when he had nothing in his way to kill her. Her mother's warband watched her suspiciously after that - magic users never being good news in their books - and all seemed relieved when she was old enough to send away to the fahrar, her mother included, happy to finally be free of something that created any link between her and the Flame Legion. Aydan had a rough time in the fahrar, the other cubs and even some teachers treating her with suspicion and dislike. Though she tried to bottle in the magic and learn more conventional methods of fighting, it often came out when she least expected it. She finally decided with the guidance of some more open minded teachers that the best way to serve her legion was to learn to control the magic and use it for them. She dealt with quite a few bullies growing up, and when they graduated into a warband she found herself surrounded by those who disliked and distrusted her, rather than the family loyalty a warband should have. One challenge was taken to the bane, for what was supposed to be a non-lethal determination of the winner. During the fight, when in close quarters a move Aydan made caused her opponents dagger to lightly cut himself, bringing a roar from him as he collapsed, writhing in pain from the poison the dagger was coated in. Rather than accepting the dishonor he had brought on himself, her warband sided with him and moved to his aid, even trying to accuse her of somehow intentionally causing the problem. Later that night she woke to a small sound and moved out of the way just in time to avoid a dagger plunging for where she had been, fighting back and killing her attacker, only to find it to be another of her bandmates. Again, instead of admitting the disgrace of attacking someone in their sleep, much less a bandmate, her warband looked at her as if it was somehow her wrong. Aydan left and went to her centaurian and told him she would rather take the dishonor of being a gladium than have to slowly kill off her warband in defense of herself, especially since she knew them well and knew their skills could serve the legion without her presence. The centaurian, impressed with her contacted another warband that had taken in "orphan" young charr in the past and asked them to take her. Though they were skeptical at first of taking in yet ANOTHER young gladium, the Moon Warband took her in, and after some interactions welcomed her happily (their leader Kev, being a mesmer himself, magic use was not an issue to them.) Their specialty was taking out Flame Legion, and Aydan proved more than willing to strike at those who had so tainted her life by her parentage. She also found her true family warband, forming close bonds with them. Aydan has become more confident since this time, working with them to serve their legion and studying with the Priory to improve her skills. Current Activities: Raising her cubs with Coil. Whereabouts/Residence: Town of Nolan, outside Black Citadel. |
