NARR: 07AZUR0101/03NM Color: American Blue Ears: Standard Coat: Standard Markings: Self D.O.B. 12/13/2007 D.O.D. 10/24/2008 Litter Page: Wheeler x Vito Litter at AZUR Cause of Death: Died at the vet in an oxygen cage due to a rapidly spreading round cell carcinoma. The necropsy showed that it had likely gone from non-existent to widespread in a matter of days. The cancer seemed to start around his spleen but had spread to his lungs making it impossible for him to breathe. He went from show happy to horribly sick in just a couple days, and only lasted a day after that. There were no signs of any contagious problems. The cancer is considered rare in rats and is suspected to be non-genetic - however he had an uncle with a similar problem. Breeding Status: Pet Only, Never Bred Show Results: NIRO 2008 Show: First in his lowest level group (out of 2!) We had a great time! RFL 2008 Show: Shown, did not place. Lots of fun though! At both shows the judges commented repeatedly on his wonderful personality! It was also pointed out that his coloring was very light for an American Blue, and that he was almost the color of a Russian Silver. He made many friends at the shows and had alot of fun! Notes: Squishy was an absolute doll! He was a super kissy, squishy, lovey, snuggly boy! He loved everyone and gave kisses all the time! He was the sweetest little guy, who took anything and everything in stride and just loved to be loved. I waited over 6 months for he and his brother's litter, mainly wanting to get a rat of his coloring. I am so glad to have waited for him, he had such a fabulous personality. His time here was really too short, but I am so happy for the time I had with him. |
