Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

MaxNARR: None - rescue/pet onlyColor: Black Ears: Standard Coat: Standard Markings: Berkshire D.O.B. 5/15/2002 D.O.D. 9/25/2003 Cause of Death: Died at home after complications from mycoplasma. Breeding Status: Pet Only, Never Bred Show Results: Not Shown Notes: She was a petstore ratty who was walked home on my shoulder after being the only one of the 'small feeder/pet' rats that wanted to come out of the cage. Max was a sweet and adventurous girl, who survived surgery when she was 1 year old to have a benign mammary tumor removed, and recovered from multiple bouts of upper respiratory infections before finally succumbing to them just under a year and a half of age. After fighting with her for her life for so long, I decided to turn to reputable breeders to try and find healthier animals who would hopefully be able to live longer, more comfortable lives. |

PotterNARR: None - rescue/pet onlyColor:Black and White Ears: Standard Coat: Standard Markings: Capped with headstripe D.O.B. 6/15/2001 D.O.D. 4/8/2002 Cause of Death: Severe upper respiratory infection - unresponsive to any treatment Breeding Status: Pet Only, Never Bred Show Results: Not Shown Notes:He was the tiniest little guy at the store, so much smaller than everyone else that I was sure he had to be a mouse in the rat cage - and he was probably going through that mousey baby stage at the time to support that! He had a black cap with a zig zaggy white stripe, which made his name easy to come up with! He grew in to a big, fuzzy lump of a guy, who loved to lounge on the hammocks I'd knit for him with extra thick yarn. He died at a young age only a couple days after coming down with a respiratory infection - the vet was unable to get treatment to him fast enough to save him. |
